Las Velas Mexican Restaurant is the first restaurant of owner and chef David Montanez, who was born and raised in Mexico City before moving to the Riviera Maya where his cooking was further influenced by the local cuisine and culture. Montanez also owns and operates Madero Cantina in Murrysville.

I came during the lunch rush and was still served quickly and the food came very promptly. I ordered las flautas and they were AMAZING. Seriously, this is now going to be my new lunch spot. I also ordered their flan and it was good as well. Would HIGHLY recommend!!
I love coming here! I've been here more times than I can count and have never had a bad experience. The only bad thing I have to say is it's too hard to pick what to get to eat because everything is so darn good! I love their margaritas, queso, guacamole, quesadilla, tacos, fajitas and salads!
Been here many times through the years. Great frozen drinks and beer. Food is tasty with items not in the typical American Mexican restaurants. Good service and good nature light being on the second floor. Great choice for when you're in downtown Pgh.
What a great little place! Went here with some coworkers and we had such a nice time. The service was great and the view of market square was really pretty as it was night time and everything was quiet and lit up! We got the dip trio and it was all great...
Great food at an appropriate price. So glad I stopped there. I had s burrito and it was so delicious. I am usually not a fan of salsa verde but it complimented the dish very well. If you go to market square I highly recommend a stop if you are in the mood for Mexican food.
